PATIENT TIP SHEET

When considering treatment using a next-generation injectable dermal filler such as longer-lasting Radiesse®, please keep the following safety tips in mind:

Ask Questions

Check the doctor’s credentials. Ask how much experience your doctor has using injectable fillers. Ask to see before and after treatment photos.

Realistic Expectations

To help plan your treatment, bring a close-up photo of yourself in your 30s to share with us during your medical evaluation.

Consider Your Options

Speak with us about the advantages of using a long-lasting filler product that augments facial wrinkles, as well as boosts collagen production. This dual action helps maintain the cosmetic correction for about 12 months or more.

Medications

Inform us of any medications you are taking.

Safe Facility

Look for a safe, clean setting with appropriate medical personnel and sterile equipment, as well as the necessary containers for the disposal of medical sharps as required by Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.

At Home

For the first 24 hours after treatment, ice the treatment area to reduce swelling and bruising. A bag of frozen peas or corn makes a great re-usable and moldable ice pack. Elevating your head with an extra pillow at night also helps to minimize puffiness.

Reduce your chance of bruising

Avoid alcoholic beverages for a week ahead and two days after the procedure. If possible and prudent, avoid elective ibuprofen or Aleve (NSAIDS) for 5 days ahead of time, and avoid Aspirin for 7 days ahead of time (Remain on aspirin if another doctor had recommended it for stroke or heart attack prevention, but inform us of your use)

Use a sunscreen

Use daily to maintain your youthful appearance.
