THREADLIFT

Contour Threads are a patented, self-anchoring thread technology used in the ThreadLift that permits a minimally invasive surgical approach for elevation and fixation of facial skin. Like the thorns on a stem of roses, the Contour Threads grasp tissue to hold it in place.

This is the only FDA-approved product cleared for the U.S. market with current usages for elevation and fixation of midface, jawline and neck.

As seen on Evening Magazine (KING 5), Oct. 24th, 2005, the Contour ThreadLift is cutting edge technology to rejuvenate the face, without cutting or general anesthesia.

Contour Threads are made from clear, non-absorbable polypropylene, a material that has been used inside the human body as a suture material for decades. Contour Threads are designed with patented dimensional cogs that attach to the subdermal or fatty tissue, to lift, suspend, and fix in place contours of the brow, midface and neck areas.

Compared to traditional surgical face-lifts, the ThreadLift is minimally invasive, using no scalpels, just a fine needle through the fatty tissue or temporal fascia, which is threaded with the Contour Threads.

The procedure takes no more than one hour and recovery is very rapid, with minimal bruising or swelling, so you are socially presentable in 1-2 days with minor make-up. The entry points are hidden within the hairline so you never see evidence of surgery or scars.

Recovery is considered complete in 7 days. To avoid traumatizing the threads from their supportive location during this time, neither drinking with straws, nor straining with heavy loads (which can make one grimace), nor intense physical exertion is recommended. Also avoid heavy facial rubbing or trauma, avoid excessive mouth opening (singing, having a dental check-up), and sleep on your back instead of on your side or face for two more weeks.

Patients are awake and fully numbed with local anesthesia, and will see an immediate improvement. The final result is apparent after any bruising or swelling subsides. Tylenol is recommended for pain if needed.

Dr. Ludwig Allegra performed over 50 Featherlifts in the last year before adopting the FDA-approved ThreadLift in May 2005.

Women and men from 35 to 50 with some skin laxity are potential candidates. They can opt for this lighter, less expensive lift instead of waiting for advanced age to repair their aging face with the surgical, more invasive and expensive full face-lift. ThreadLifts achieve 60-70% of the results of a face-lift. The tissue forms around the threads, with results lasting up to 5 years, until natural aging begins again.

The costs can be about half of a traditional surgical face-lift, depending upon how many areas are treated.
