Certain normal changes occur in skin with age. The collagen breaks down, resulting in wrinkles, sagging skin and contour changes. When surgical correction is unnecessary or unwanted, Thermage can provide an excellent solution for skin tightening and contouring. Uniquely engineered, Thermage uses monopolar, capacitive radiofrequency (RF) which safely heats the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating existing collagen to promote new collagen growth. The end result produces improvement in skin tone, texture, and tightness for an overall younger appearance.

It is not recommended for patients who require chronic use of anti-inflammatory medication or steroids. Additionally, it is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women or individuals diagnosed with Epilepsy, because the effects have not been studied in this population.

During the procedure you will feel deep, but brief heating sensations which indicates that collagen is reaching effective temperatures for tightening. To protect the surface of your skin, a cooling spray is delivered before, during, and after each application. There is no special care needed after the procedure and most patients return to their regular activities immediately following the treatments. We recommend the use of TNS growth factor serum to augment collagen production during healing.

The procedure can stimulate new collagen growth for up to 6months following a single treatment. Thus, results can last for years depending on your natural aging process and your diligence to healthy skin care habits. The use of daily sunscreen and topical antioxidants is highly recommended to prevent destruction of new collagen by UV rays.
