7 Foods that Cause Acid Reflux
Posted in General on October 11, 2011
A recent article on Health.com highlights 7 of the most common foods that can cause acid reflux. While several of these seem very intuitive, such as fried foods or high-fat foods, other items may come as a surprise to many people. Caffeine, for example, is a significant cause of acid reflux. Typical acid reflux, known as GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux, is what most people typically complain of, and symptoms include heartburn, belching, and indigestion. Another form of reflux, known as LPR or Laryngopharyngeal reflux, is more insidious in nature, and can cause symptoms such as chronic cough, throat clearing, foreign body sensation in the throat, and voice raspiness. Diet changes play an important role in the management of both types of acid reflux.
