Adolescent Acne: Scarred for Life
Posted in Dermatology on September 15, 2010
Life for teenagers is filled with drama, and the occasional pimple before an important date can often become a mini-crisis; however, moderate to severe acne should be taken seriously. Moderate to severe acne is more than just a phase that will pass with time. Left untreated, this form of acne can cause permanent scarring and hyper-pigmentation (darkened patches of the skin) that will be with the teenager for the rest of his or her life. In addition to long-term scarring, teenagers with moderate to severe acne suffer from social stigmas and feelings of low self-esteem. However, ALL ACNE IS TREATABLE!
Teenagers with moderate to severe acne do not need to suffer or be scarred for life. If you have a loved one suffering with moderate to severe acne, make an appointment with a Northwest Face clinician to explore the latest acne treatments.
