  • Tanning Industry officially supplying “false and misleading” information

    Tsk Tsk.
That those tanning salons are not telling the truth is not surprising, is it? A study was recently done were people called 300 tanning salons around the country posing as 16-year old fair-skinned girls. The salons were asked if there was any health risk (specifically, cancer risk) associated with tanning. 90% of salons said there were no health risk associated with indoor tanning. • Melanoma

    Melanoma.

The incidence continues to rise every year. When I graduated from my dermatology residency 15 years ago, the rate of melanoma in the U.S. population was about 1 in 200. Julie E. Voss, MD

The more coffee people drank, the lower their risk for BCC was, so go

  • For patients with acne

All benzoyl peroxide products are now available without a prescription.  These products are typically available as washes, creams, gels and pads ranging in strength from 2.5% to 10%.  As the strength increases, risk of irritation may increase as well, so we often recommend starting with a lower strength.  This product can bleach fabric so a wash is a great option as it can be used in the shower for face and body acne and can be rinsed off.  We carry a great 5% face and body wash
