If I can play in the sun in the beach in Mexico (wearing my rash guard, sunglasses, big hat, and sunscreen) and without burning, then you can too.
- You increase your chance of Melanoma by 75% if you use tanning beds before the age of 30.
- Melanoma is the most common form of cancer in white women ages 15 - 29.
- Melanoma rates have risen by 50% in that same age group since the 1980s, which coincides with the proliferation of the tanning industry.

That those tanning salons are not telling the truth is not surprising, is it? A study was recently done were people called 300 tanning salons around the country posing as 16-year old fair-skinned girls. The salons were asked if there was any health risk (specifically, cancer risk) associated with tanning. 90% of salons said there were no health risk associated with indoor tanning.
