Swim for some good

Hi all,
I'm gonna go "jump in the Lake" for a good cause- cancer research! As a dermatologist I have bemoaned the dearth of effective therapies for melanoma for many years. However, recently we have had some thrilling breakthroughs in melanoma treatment due to cancer research, but there is still far to go. As a physician I am excited about the future cures research can bring and want to do my part to help.
I'm participating in Swim Across America and will swim 2 miles around part of Mercer Island on September 10, 2011. I love to swim and I am a firm supporter of medical research. Through this activity I can do both. I hope you will join me in supporting this worthy cause.
