That’s DR. Michelle Batson

Weekends that change your life...
As many of you have known, I've been working on completing my doctorate in Audiology. You see, when I joined this profession a master's degree was the highest non-research based degree available to us. There have always been doctors of Audiology--but only PhDs: doctors who typically are found in university positions.
The AuD. is a clinical doctorate, one meant for those who will be in clinical practice evaluating and treating auditory and vestibular concerns. It has been a long and grueling course, but I have now completed and passed all requirements. Saturday morning the Dr. Lindley, Dean of Salus University, called to congratulate me and to be the first to address me as Dr. Michelle R. Batson... This degree has taken almost 4 years to obtain, and I can't tell you how nice it will be not to be thinking of homework hanging over my head every time I want to kick my shoes off and have some fun.
So what did I do this weekend after the good news? Some good-ole-fun horsing around with my family. My daughter just turned two years old, and with the test "pending" I hadn't even taken her for Santa pictures... oh the free time and how quickly I will fill it up with life!
I leave this with the best of wishes for you and yours,
Michelle R. Batson, AuD
