Report on how the Tanning Industry is misleading the public

Just published - A study was recently done were people called 300 tanning salons around the country posing as 16-year old fair-skinned girls. The salons were asked if there was any health risk (specifically, cancer risk) associated with tanning. 90% of salons said there were no health risk associated with indoor tanning. Well, that's just a bunch of !#@! hooey!

Hooray! California law now makes it illegal, for kids under 18yrs, to use tanning beds. How inconsistent that they can get parental permission to go anyway- that would be the same as giving your kids' permission to smoke cigarettes. Tanning beds are more carcinogenic than cigarette smoking. I call them aging machines because the UVA wavelength can reach deep into your skin to destroy the elastic tissue, and stimulate lots of brown sunspots and moles to grow. Please avoid tanning
