What Is Qwo & How Does It Work?

Cellulite appears on approximately 98% of women and 10% of men at some point in their lifetime. Most common on the buttocks and thighs, there has never been an effective non-invasive treatment for cellulite. Earlier this year, the FDA approved the first injectable treatment for cellulite called Qwo. Involving at least three sessions, Qwo is currently considered the most effective treatment for cellulite. Let’s take a closer look at “What is Qwo & how does it work?”

Qwo is an injectable form of collagenase clostridium histolyticum which is an enzyme that breaks down collagen. In medicine, it is used to treat various painful tissue conditions. However, it has also been found to effectively treat cellulite by breaking down the collagen threads that cause the dimpling of cellulite.

When injected into the areas of cellulite, Qwo begins to break the strands which alleviate stress on the skin and improves the look of cellulite. It takes time for Qwo to work and injections are needed roughly every 21 days for the best results. Three treatments are typically enough to treat one area. You may require more sessions for more severe cellulite or for larger areas.
