Semaglutide Weight Loss Bellevue & Kirkland

Fad diets and excessive exercise may lead to temporary weight loss but often do not offer a long-term solution for chronic weight management. A setback on a normal diet can take months or even years to remedy, which can completely discourage the dieter and lead to giving up.

A new weight loss medication helps patients keep weight off and supports healthy lifestyle changes. Northwest Face & Body provides the best semaglutide weight loss Bellevue and Kirkland offer.

Compound Semaglutide Dosing Plan

The Science Behind Semaglutide Weight Loss

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. This means that it mimics the functions of the hormone GLP-1. This causes the body to release more insulin. People with type 2 diabetes who took semaglutide often experienced significant weight loss, which could improve their condition. Now, those without type 2 diabetes can use semaglutide as a weight-loss medication to help them establish healthier lifestyles.

Semaglutide interacts with the parts of the brain responsible for appetite control. It also promotes gastric emptying. All of this helps patients feel full longer and experience less hunger. This can help improve emotional eating and general overeating.

At Northwest Face & Body, we provide a compounded version of semaglutide that also contains Vitamin B. This can help reduce nausea and fatigue, two common side effects of semaglutide. This compounded version still contains the same active ingredient as the brand-name medications.

Semaglutide Injections For Weight Loss

Semaglutide most commonly comes in an injectable form. It is a subcutaneous injection which means into the fatty tissue below the skin. Patients inject themselves after a brief training in the office. Viable injection sites include the upper arm, thigh, and abdomen. Medical providers encourage patients to rotate injection sites to prevent skin irritation.

When administering semaglutide injections, the patient will inject themself once a week on the same day of the week. If you miss a dose, you can take it if there are more than two days until your next dose. If it is two days or less, skip the dose completely.

Semaglutide Tablets For Weight Loss

Semaglutide tablets are a new way to take semaglutide. Taken daily instead of weekly, it allows patients who do not want to administer injections to enjoy the benefits of semaglutide. It can also fit into some people’s lifestyles better, especially if they already take pills at a specific time every day.

Studies show that the injectable and tablet forms of semaglutide are effective.

Who Can Benefit From Semaglutide?

Beyond people with type 2 diabetes and obese patients, there are some people who may benefit from semaglutide injections. However, they are usually overweight in some capacity. Some medical conditions can cause uncontrollable or unmanageable weight gain. Semaglutide can help control this. Examples of other conditions that semaglutide may provide some benefit include:

  • Binge eating
  • Menopausal weight gain
  • PCOS
  • High blood pressure
  • Sleep apnea
  • Arthritis

Additionally, semaglutide treatment can help lower a patient’s risk of heart disease, stroke, and certain cancers. Even once a patient reaches their goal or ideal weight, they may continue using semaglutide—often in smaller doses—to help with chronic weight management and keeping the weight off.

Risk Factors

Semaglutide can have an enormously beneficial effect on qualifying patients. However, some people with certain conditions or in some situations may want to avoid taking semaglutide altogether. A medical provider may be able to help point toward an alternative for these patients.

Medical conditions and situations that may impact candidacy for semaglutide weight loss in Bellevue include:

  • Type 1 diabetes
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • People at high risk for thyroid cancer, gallstones, or pancreatitis
  • Patients with many severe allergies or known allergies to similar medications
  • Patient is underweight

The providers at Northwest Face & Body examine each patient holistically to determine if they are a candidate for semaglutide weight loss treatment in Bellevue.

Our Semaglutide Weight Loss Program Options

At Northwest Face & Body, we offer two different semaglutide weight loss program options so you can choose the one that works best for you. These options include:

  • Semaglutide Through Northwest Face & Body: If you choose the weight loss program entirely through Northwest Face & Body, you will receive generic compounded semaglutide medication, diet, and exercise programs, 24/7 access to on-call doctors, and comprehensive care. This program is $575 for the injections and $700 for the tablets.
  • Semaglutide Weight Los Program Through the Pharmacy: If you choose to use our program through the pharmacy, you will still receive the diet and exercise program, 24/7 access to on-call doctors, and comprehensive care. However, you will get an on-brand prescription of Ozempic through the pharmacy of your choosing. This program is $199 plus the cost of the prescription.

You may choose the pharmacy option if your insurance provider will cover the medication cost. However, it’s important to note that Ozempic only comes in injection form, not tablet, so the pharmacy will provide self-administration injections.

Injection Plan

At Northwest Face & Body, we offer an injection plan that helps you achieve weight loss. We work with the compound-semaglutide guidelines and prescribe dosages a little more at a time. The dosages increase as follows: .25, .5, 1mg, then 1 or 2mg maintenance. With adjustments as needed for the patients specific health needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Get Semaglutide Over The Counter?

No, semaglutide is a prescription-only medication. A medical professional such as a physician or physician assistant must prescribe it for patients following a comprehensive exam.

Semaglutide is a base ingredient medication that is also available under the brand names of Ozempic and Wegovy. At Northwest Face & Body, we administer a compounded version of semaglutide that also contains Vitamin B which helps reduce the two most common side effects, fatigue and nausea in most patients. This compounded version of semaglutide contains the same active ingredient as Wegovy and Ozempic.

Is It Okay To Drink Alcohol While Taking Semaglutide?

It depends. For the average patient, one or two drinks on an occasional basis will likely not have a major effect. However, if a patient has diabetes or a history of low blood sugar, they should not drink alcohol while taking semaglutide.

The risk that alcohol poses when used with semaglutide is severely low blood sugar which can become a medical emergency. Some patients are at higher risk of this than others. Patients are encouraged to discuss this with their providers and what to do if they experience symptoms of low blood sugar.

Should I Do Liposuction Or Semaglutide?

While both can help remove fat from the body, the goals of each procedure are different. Liposuction aims to help sculpt the body and bring out the natural tone of the body. It often accompanies surgeries such as tummy tucks. Semaglutide is meant for much larger weight loss. In comparison, liposuction removes a fraction of the fat that semaglutide can help patients lose.

With that said, at some point in the weight loss process, a patient may seek out cosmetic surgery to remove extra skin and smooth their overall body contours. However, between liposuction and semaglutide, one is not a replacement for the other.

Is Semaglutide Worth It?

The answer to this question is normally a personal one for each patient. If it is safe for a patient to take semaglutide and it would help them lower their body weight and potentially improve overall health, it will likely be worth it. If a patient doesn’t make lifestyle changes with semaglutide, they might regain the weight they lost. Each patient can discuss their goals with their provider to help determine if semaglutide is worth it for them.

What Is The Cost Of Bellevue Semaglutide Weight Loss?

Northwest Face & Body offers a monthly supply of semaglutide weight loss to Bellevue patients at the following cost:

  • $575 per month for injection with supplies (includes one month’s supply of alcohol pads and syringes)
  • $700 per month for oral tablet
  • $199 plus the cost of the prescription if you go with the Pharmacy plan

Included in the above pricing are an accompanying diet and exercise plan and monthly check-ins conducted in-person or virtually to best accommodate the patient. The diet and exercise plan are optional, but highly encouraged to enhance results and promote longer lasting weight loss.

Patients can purchase more than a month’s supply at a time. However, this will increase the cost. Patients can receive pricing for purchasing semaglutide in advance at a consultation appointment.

As far as we know, insurance does not cover semaglutide for weight loss. Thus, Northwest Face & Body does not accept insurance for this procedure.
