Northwest Face & Body

Restylane fillers are a type of dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the body and is good for the skin. When injected correctly, it poses little risk. Patients often seek fillers because as we age, the body begins to produce less collagen and it diminishes at a faster rate. Therefore, areas of the face may begin to hollow, the skin loses elasticity, and, in later stages, you may notice sagging. Thankfully, Restylane fillers can treat the initial signs of aging to help you look younger, long.

Along with filling in hollows and wrinkles, Restylane injections restore your HA levels and help you maintain the appearance of hydrated, healthy, youthful skin across various areas of your face. The Restylane family of dermal fillers were designed with your face goals in mind, giving you natural-looking, lasting results using safe and effective products. The master injectors at Northwest Face & Body provide the best Restylane Bellevue and Kirkland offers.

FAQ

How Long Does Restylane Last?

The longevity of Restylane fillers largely depends on the specific product and the treatment area. For example, lip filler will not last as long as under eye filler. This simply because the lips move and are used more. However, thicker fillers such as Restylane Defyne, tend to last longer than thinner fillers such as Restylane L. On average, patients can expect Restylane to last anywhere from three to nine months, with six months being about average across all products and areas. With that said, some patients may see results last as long as eighteen months in certain areas and products. Based on your medical history and specific treatment, your master injector can discuss what you can expect during your consultation.

How Experienced Are The Providers?

The master injectors at Northwest Face & Body come from a variety of educational backgrounds including physicians, physician’s assistants, and registered nurses. Having all trained directly under Dr. Allegra and the manufacturers of cosmetic injectables, our master injectors are some of the best trained and qualified in Washington State. They each have years of experience working with Restylane fillers and can advise on the best one for your goals.

What Are The Benefits And Risks?

Any medical procedure–whether performed for medical or cosmetic reasons–comes with some risks. It is important for every patient to understand the risks and weight them with the benefits. Your injector will discuss both the benefits and risks with you. Ultimately, if they believe the procedure is too risky for you, they may recommend another course of treatment.

First, let’s take a look at the benefits of Restylane fillers:

  • Augments and fills out facial features
  • Contributes to a younger appearance
  • Creates a more symmetrical facial appearance
  • FDA approved
  • Quick procedure
  • Most Restylane fillers contain lidocaine for less discomfort during treatment
  • Reversible
  • May see some improvements to the skin
  • Improve facial profile
  • Overall low risk
  • Non-surgical and non-invasive
  • Few side effects
  • Little to no recovery time

Risks or complications associated with filler injections are rare. Though, they can happen. Your master injection will discuss them thoroughly with you before your injections. Also, since Restylane fillers are reversible, most complications are easily treated in office and leave no lasting effects when addressed immediately. The risks of Restylane dermal filler injections include:

  • Prolonged bruising or swelling
  • Bleeding
  • Temporary numbness
  • Occlusion
  • Unsatisfactory result
  • Lumps or bumps
  • Pain
  • Infection

Many of the above risks are normal within two weeks of your injections, specifically bruising, swelling, and lumps. However, if these do not go away in about two weeks, consult with your injector.
