Semaglutide Weight Loss Bellevue & Kirkland

Fad diets and excessive exercise may lead to temporary weight loss but often do not offer a long-term solution for chronic weight management. A setback on a normal diet can take months or even years to remedy, which can completely discourage the dieter and lead to giving up.

A new weight loss medication helps patients keep weight off and supports healthy lifestyle changes. Northwest Face & Body provides the best semaglutide weight loss Bellevue and Kirkland offer.

Compound Semaglutide Dosing Plan

The Science Behind Semaglutide Weight Loss

“Semaglutide is a medication known as a GLP-1 receptor agonist. This means it mimics the natural hormone GLP-1, which helps regulate insulin release, blood sugar levels, appetite, and digestion.

Originally developed for people with type 2 diabetes, clinical studies showed that semaglutide not only improved blood sugar control but also led to significant weight loss. Today, semaglutide is widely used as a weight-loss treatment for people without diabetes who want a safe, effective way to reach a healthier lifestyle.

Why It Helps With Weight Loss

Semaglutide works on multiple pathways that influence hunger and fullness:
  • Appetite Control: Acts on the areas of the brain that regulate cravings, reducing overeating and emotional eating.
  • Fullness & Satiety: Slows gastric emptying, helping you feel full longer and eat less overall.
  • Behavioral Support: By reducing hunger signals, patients often find it easier to stick to healthier eating habits and avoid weight-loss plateaus.
Together, these effects help patients achieve meaningful, sustainable weight loss and develop better long-term lifestyle habits.

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. This means that it mimics the functions of the hormone GLP-1. This causes the body to release more insulin. People with type 2 diabetes who took semaglutide often experienced significant weight loss, which could improve their condition. Now, those without type 2 diabetes can use semaglutide as a weight-loss medication to help them establish healthier lifestyles.

Semaglutide interacts with the parts of the brain responsible for appetite control. It also promotes gastric emptying. All of this helps patients feel full longer and experience less hunger. This can help improve emotional eating and general overeating.

Semaglutide Injections For Weight Loss

Semaglutide is most commonly taken as a once-weekly injection. It is a subcutaneous injection, meaning it’s delivered into the fatty tissue just under the skin. After a brief training session in our office, patients can confidently administer their injections at home. Common injection sites include the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, and rotating sites each week helps prevent irritation.

Consistency is key: injections are taken once a week on the same day. If you forget a dose, it can still be taken if your next dose is more than two days away. If it’s closer than that, the missed dose should be skipped and you continue with your regular schedule.

This simple weekly routine makes semaglutide both effective and easy to manage, allowing patients to stay on track with their weight loss goals.

Who Can Benefit From Semaglutide?

Semaglutide isn’t only for patients with type 2 diabetes. Many people who are overweight or struggling with weight-related health conditions may also benefit. Some medical issues make losing weight especially difficult, and semaglutide can help break through those barriers.

Conditions Where Semaglutide May Help

  • Binge eating disorder – reduces appetite and cravings
  • Menopausal weight gain – supports metabolism during hormonal changes
  • PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) – helps manage weight and insulin resistance
  • High blood pressure – weight loss supports heart health
  • Sleep apnea – reducing weight may ease symptoms
  • Arthritis – less strain on joints with weight reduction

Long-Term Health Benefits

By supporting weight loss and healthier lifestyle habits, semaglutide can also help lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, and certain cancers. Even after reaching a target weight, many patients continue semaglutide — often at a smaller dose — to support chronic weight management and keep the weight off.

Semaglutide isn’t a quick fix. It’s a tool that, when combined with provider guidance and healthy habits, can make sustainable weight loss and improved overall health achievable.”

Risk Factors & Who Should Avoid Semaglutide

Semaglutide can be life-changing for the right patients, but it isn’t appropriate for everyone. Certain medical conditions or circumstances may make semaglutide unsafe or less effective. In these cases, a provider may recommend an alternative treatment.

Patients who may not be candidates include those with:

  • Type 1 diabetes
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • High risk for thyroid cancer, gallstones, or pancreatitis
  • Severe or multiple allergies, including known allergies to GLP-1 medications
  • Underweight patients

Safe, Personalized Care

At Northwest Face & Body, every patient is evaluated holistically. Our providers take time to review your full medical history, discuss your goals, and determine whether semaglutide is the right weight loss solution for you. If it isn’t, we’ll help point you toward safer alternatives to support your health and weight management journey.

Our Semaglutide Weight Loss Program Options

At Northwest Face & Body, we recognize that weight loss is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why we offer two program options, allowing patients to choose the path best suited to their health, goals, and medical needs.

Option 1: Compounded Semaglutide with L-Carnitine

Our compounded semaglutide program includes L-Carnitine, a nutrient that helps transport stored fat into your cells’ mitochondria, where it’s burned for energy. The addition of L-Carnitine can boost fat metabolism, increase energy, and enhance exercise endurance.

Unlike standard, brand-name prescriptions, compounded semaglutide is custom-formulated, allowing more flexibility in dosing and the ability to include supportive ingredients. This makes it an excellent choice for patients who:

  • Struggle with energy and stamina during weight loss
  • Want to maximize fat-burning potential
  • Prefer a more tailored, customized approach
  • Are not able to tolerate brand-name semaglutide or may experience negative side effects with it

This program also includes:

  • Personalized diet and exercise guidance
  • 24/7 access to medical providers
  • Monthly check-ins and dose adjustments to optimize results

Program Cost: Starting at $399 (includes injections and comprehensive support)

Option 2: Brand-Name Prescription Through the Pharmacy

We also offer prescriptions for Ozempic® or other FDA-approved semaglutide medications through your pharmacy of choice. This may be the right path if your insurance covers the medication cost. This program includes:
  • Prescription for Ozempic® (billed by the pharmacy)
  • Customized diet and exercise plan
  • 24/7 provider access
  • Full medical oversight
Program Cost: $199 (plus the cost of the prescription) Note: Ozempic® is available only as an injection and must be self-administered after training.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Get Semaglutide Over the Counter?

No. Semaglutide is a prescription-only medication. It must be prescribed by a licensed medical professional (physician, PA, or ARNP) after a full medical evaluation.

Semaglutide is also available under the brand names Ozempic® and Wegovy®. At Northwest Face & Body, we offer a compounded version of semaglutide that includes L-Carnitine, which can support fat metabolism, boost energy, and enhance exercise endurance.

Compounded options contain the same active ingredient as Wegovy® and Ozempic® while offering added benefits for many patients.

*Compounded versions of semaglutide are not FDA-approved, and neither the FDA nor any global regulatory agency has reviewed these products for safety, quality, or efficacy.

Is It Okay to Drink Alcohol While Taking Semaglutide?

It depends. For most patients, an occasional drink or two is not likely to cause serious problems. However, patients with diabetes or a history of low blood sugar should be especially cautious.

The main risk is hypoglycemia (dangerously low blood sugar), which can become a medical emergency. Patients should always consult their provider and know how to recognize and respond to low blood sugar symptoms.

Should I Choose Liposuction or Semaglutide?

Both address fat, but they serve very different goals:

  • Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure designed to sculpt and contour specific areas of the body.
  • Semaglutide promotes significant, overall weight loss by suppressing appetite, controlling blood sugar, and supporting healthier eating habits.

Liposuction cannot replace the broader weight reduction benefits of semaglutide. However, some patients choose cosmetic surgery after weight loss to remove loose skin or fine-tune their body contours.

Is Semaglutide Worth It?

For many patients, yes. If semaglutide is safe for you and supports your weight loss goals, it can lower body weight, improve overall health, and reduce risks of serious conditions like diabetes and heart disease.

That said, results last longer when paired with lifestyle changes. Without healthy eating and activity, some patients may regain lost weight. Your provider will work with you to ensure semaglutide is the right choice for your personal goals.

What Is the Cost of the Semaglutide Weight Loss Program in Bellevue?

At Northwest Face & Body, we offer two program options:
  • Compounded Semaglutide with L-Carnitine: Starting at $399 per month (includes injections, alcohol pads, and syringes for one month).
  • Pharmacy Plan: $199 plus the cost of a brand-name prescription (e.g., Ozempic®) filled at your pharmacy.
Both programs include:
  • A tailored diet and exercise plan
  • Monthly check-ins (in-person or virtual)
  • 24/7 access to providers for ongoing support
Patients can also purchase more than one month at a time. Pricing for multi-month supplies is discussed during your consultation. Note: Insurance typically does not cover semaglutide for weight loss. Therefore, Northwest Face & Body does not accept insurance for this program.
