Cosmetic surgeons perform thousands of brow lifts every year. According to a recent survey of patients in Germany, the results are highly satisfying.The study, which was published in Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery, asked 98 patients about their experience with brow lift surgery.
Often called a forehead lift, a brow lift can rejuvenate the upper third of the face by repositioning the tissues in the forehead that cause lines and wrinkles.
- 96 percent of the subjects were women
- They were surveyed about three years after their brow lift
- The average age of a patient was 60 years old
When asked if they would do it again, roughly 63 percent of the patients said they would definitely or most likely would do so, while 18 percent said they definitely or probably wouldn’t. The remaining 18 percent were on the fence, saying they’d consider it.Similar responses were reported when they asked if they’d recommend the surgery to a friend. Most said they would, but 32 percent said they weren’t likely to recommend it.For any patient, brow lift surgery requires research, planning and consideration of one’s cosmetic goals.
